While we try to teach our children all about life, Our children teach us what life is all about.~Angela Schwindt

I loved that quote when I came across it, it is so true. I find it amazing the joy a child can get out of the most simple things in life. One of those things being the park. We love going to the park. Brylee could never get enough of going up and down the stairs and trying out every slide and swing they have, so we try to go often.
The girls love the park so much that I picked up a swing set off KSL which is now set up in our back yard. I'm pretty sure it has been raining everyday since we got it but we have still managed to try it out a few times and she loves it! Brylee has taught me so much about what life really is about and even on the hard days her smile or kisses can melt me away.
Here are a few of our park outings, we are so lucky to get to take Jos with us the days she is here. Josi is such a little character and joy to be around, I am a lucky girl to have these cuties in my life.

Flashback to last year, same swing but where did my baby go?

The KSL purchase
I'm thinking these little girls are going to get a lot of enjoyment out of it this summer.

Project Latest

I am still enjoying trying to be a bit more crafty/domestic. Lets be honest, I think that it is a built in/born with talent to just come up with ideas and projects on your own. Maybe with time and practice I will get better at this but for now I am happy with the step by step tutorials on someone else's idea. Someday, maybe someday I will come up with my own stuff, but here you are with my latest....
I got this crayon roll-up idea from a friends blog(thanks KW!) And I think it is such a fun and cute simple sewing project. So fun and cute that I have already made(and given away) 5 of them! Just put it with a couple coloring books and there you go, an easy gift idea. It doesn't take up much room in the diaper bag and is nice to always have on hand.

For mothers day I made my mom some curtains for her kitchen. She picked out and delivered the fabric to me along with the old ones that used to be there, and I just used the old ones as basically a pattern to follow. It was actually a simple gift this year. I didn't have to go to a store and pick out something that she doesn't need or will not use. Feels good knowing my mom will get to enjoy my gift.
Since we had extra fabric I sewed together a quick center piece mat for her as well.

My good friend and cousin E called me up and suggested that we should make birthday shirts for our kids. I was hesitant at first and although pretty amateur, I think they turned out pretty cute. And it helps that we have stinkin cute subjects to put them on!

I have some more stuff in the works so more to come :)

Like mother like daughter?

I was visiting my Grandpa and Grandma the other day and they had out some old photo albums. I came across a couple of my old pictures. I pointed at one of the pictures of me and asked Brylee, who's that? She said "ME!" I realized that she really does resemble me more than I thought. Jay's family thinks she looks like him and most of my family thinks she looks like me. My mom can't see any resemblance of me, she thinks Brylee looks like Jay all the way. I will let you decide for yourself......

Tonight when I was downloading these pictures I also noticed something else. Take a look at the Easter baskets, back in 1983 the Easter bunny decided to bring me and Brylee almost the exact same bucket! Even the same color of shovel, crazy!
