Passing time and a Baby bump

I have been feeling a bit anxious lately. I am fortunate enough to not have to deal with anxiety on a regular basis. For some reason pregnancy, especially the third trimester brings it on for me. I can only describe the feeling as needing to be somewhere and I am running late, only I have nowhere to be. Kind of a crawling out of my skin type feeling.

So I have to find ways(projects) to pass this feeling by. After cleaning the house top to bottom my "project" of the day today was taking the couch covers off the cushions and washing them along with the couch pillows. While I was at it I vacuumed under the cushions which is a chore that gets done far less than it should. I guess some of this could be considered nesting, but I'm thinking I need to learn yoga or something to get rid of this anxiousness I have got going on.

Since I haven't really posted any belly pictures yet, here ya go....

I am at 30 weeks now and can't believe how fast time is flying by me.

Some more of my projects have included this little baby car seat cover. I am thinking for never sewing in my life until this year, I have really got use out of my black Friday sewing machine deal. I'm not going to pretend that if you look close your not going to find imperfections, but I am happy with it and plus it was made with love.I decided to recover my kitchen chairs. These were some of the beauty's that I inherited when I married Jay. Since we were on the "older" side according to Utah standards when we got married, we had quite the collection of furniture and other house hold goods. Soon after we got married and I came home from living in Boise we decided that we didn't need double of everything. All my stuff was poor college student quality and hand me downs, so we had ourselves a yard sale and dumped all my stuff.

Back to the chairs. This is the second time I have recovered them. And when I say I what I really mean to say is WE. I couldn't do it without Jays help. The handheld staple guns thing is a little heavy duty for me to operate, mostly it just hurts my hand. So I cut the material and pull while he staples. I went with red the first time because my kitchen needed a little color. I liked the color that they added. But this time around the only thing I was going on is the price of the material, it was a great price.

Since Brylee is a big girl and gets to eat at the table with us every meal, these chairs have really taken a beating. In other words there were spills and food stains on all of them because Brylee likes to switch where she sits everyday. Lets just say, now with the new covers she has a designated seat and it is always covered with a towel.
I don't necessarily think they look ground breakingly better, but I do know that they feel much newer/cleaner and it is a nice update.

Brylee has been doing some projects of her own. Lets call them art projects and they make me extremely proud of her when she comes to show them to me. She has learned how to draw circles and can even draw mickey mouse by herself. I really need a new place to store the pens, because this obviously isn't working out for me.

My Halloween wreath. I was introduced to the beautiful life of yard sales at the end of the summer. I am in love with it and can't wait to do it again next season. You can't imagine the deals that you can come across at a yard sale. I highly recommend it. So I got a bunch of wreaths for 50 cents a piece. Spray painted them black and added a few sticks from the yard. A trip to the dollar store and you got yourself a holiday wreath. If nothing else, it was fun making it.Brylee and I made the sugar cookie recipe that I grew up making with my mom. Most of the time was spent eating the dough for her, but I let her because that is what I remember doing when I was "helping" my mom too. I think she loved it and I know that I did.

It's a little late but I will post some Halloween pictures anyway. My cute little cowgirl had a great time trick or treating this year. She got lots of treats and looked really adorable doing it
One last project was this fun little pregnancy shirt. I saw it on a friends blog(thanks again KW!) a few years ago and loved the idea. If you have never used freezer paper as a stencil, google it. It is way easy and much cheaper than if I would have purchased the shirt online. Oh and I can't forget the beautiful pregnant girl beside of me, my sister in law Candice and I are about 4 or 5 weeks apart. She is also expecting a little girl and I am way excited that they will be so close growing up.
My mom took us girls and the Grands to Disney on Ice. It was really fun and Brylee really enjoyed it. She got a little ancy at the end but considering it was her nap time she did really good.

I got her home, took her shoes off and she was literally out. What a fun day!

So I'm a bad blogger

I think it would be close to impossible to do a post that is worthy of a 4 or so month catchup. I have been horrible with my blog this summer and I am still going to blame it on not feeling well. I actually feel like I kind of missed out on a lot because most days were spent talking myself into getting the energy to get out and do something.

Ill start with the pregnancy update. I am at 23 weeks, and for the most part the nausea is gone. It went from 5 weeks-18 weeks nonstop and lets just say I am glad that it is behind me. And if you haven't heard already we are having another little girl. Baby is doing great and I think we have a named picked out for her but for now I will stick with her first initial and call her Baby A. She is really active these days and I forgot how much I love feeling my baby move around inside of me. This pregnancy seems to be going by so much faster than the first time around, I think it is partly because I have a 2 year old running around and keeping me nice and busy.

Brylee is so much fun these days, she is starting to really chatter and although sometimes I am the only one that knows what she is saying, her and I can have full on conversations together and I love it. She is so cute and funny and makes me laugh everyday. It is hard to imagine that I am so blessed to get to bring another sweet girl into our family and I know that Bry is going to be such a good big sister. She makes sure that she gives baby sister a kiss everyday and tells her to hurry and come out to play. I hope that it is not too much of an adjustment period for her, and for me for that matter. I feel like with Brylee I knew absolutely nothing about newborns, diapers, nursing, burping, crying, colic etc. and when all of that was put on me I was to say the least, overwhelmed. I know this time I am going to be a lot more laid back and confident in my mommy skills.

Still I am a little nervous for big changes coming but the nesting has already set in(I scrubbed my fridge down inside and out today) and soon I will be able to start putting her nursery together and tying up all the loose ends before she comes. We also got Bry a big girl bed and are excited to set that up for her as well. I really did want to write more but its bedtime and momma needs her sleep these days. The pictures are kind of random and out of order but here you go.

Bry got into a little trouble over the summer and had to visit "Sadness" her fair share of times.......

You spilled the salt! That's whats the matter!

She wasn't too happy that dad made her help him clean it up.I caught her getting into my makeup and this wasn't her first offense. But I couldn't be too mad because she actually did a really good job putting on her lipstick i.e. concealer

Isn't it pretty mommy?

But for the most part we have had a great summer with friends and family.

Josi taught Brylee how to do a peace sign. I guess Jos was feeling the spirit of the shirt she had on that day. I love these two girls, they are both a joy to be around and really good to each other most of the time.

We took a little afternoon hike up to the Grotto. Anything outdoors is just fine with Bry and even better if it involves water.

And of course we didn't miss out on the Onion days festivities. Its never been known as Labor day to me, always been Onion days and always will be.

She rode every ride that she could and if we forget about the green caterpillar incident, she loved every one of them.

Jays work had a Lagoon day and we spent the day with my mom, Jim, Shae and Carter. We had a great time. Lagoon doesn't have the same magic as it did when I was a kid but I really loved seeing how much Brylee enjoyed it and I am fine watching and reliving the magic through her.

She loves dress up of any kind. Most of the time she comes strolling out of her bedroom and I don't know what to expect. But she is a girly girl all the way.

We did go camping a few times and I actually really enjoyed myself. It was surprising because I am not the camping type but I think I am going to try and learn to be, because it's actually relaxing and a lot of fun.

I made her birthday cake again this year. I made this one because my mom made me a doll cake when I was little and I knew Bry would love it as much as I did.

We had lots of backyard swimming parties with friends

I don't know if it is just me that deals with this but since I am the "picture taker" of the family and I am the one who is always toting around the camera I feel like every picture is of Jay and Brylee and it looks like I am never apart of anything. So I threw in this one picture I could find of me and Bry. I need to work on that, I need to make Jay in charge of the pictures for a couple outings. Better yet I better just hand him the camera and say take our picture or I'm certain that we would have no pictures of our outings. Oh well what do you do :)

Very First Photo

I have not been a very good blogger this summer and I think I know why.......

I have felt like BLAH on a stick for what seems like forever. So the good news is, We get a new little baby in our family this winter! And some more good news, I have started to feel slightly back to myself this week(12 weeks) YAY! I have heard that you tend to forget the ugly side of pregnancy once you have had the baby and a few years goes by. I think that is exactly what happened to me. I do not remember feeling so yucky with Bry. It's like 24/7 carsickness with no appetite. I have been living on rice crispy cereal, toast and crackers for weeks now. I never actually throw up so I guess I should consider this a bonus? I am very sleepy and the only time a feel good is when I am asleep, so of course I am sleeping a lot these days. Good thing Bry still takes 3-4 hour naps daily because then her momma also gets a 3 hour nap every day. I have tried all the remedies: Sea bands on my wrist, ginger honey tonic, small meals, lemon oil aromatherapy, meditation and I have decided that nothing really works and that "morning sickness" needs to run its course and be done with. And hopefully(crossing my fingers) I am done with it. I have been thinking that maybe it is a good thing to feel sick. My doctor said it is a good sign and means your baby is doing what it is supposed to be doing. So I will just think of it like that for now.

I'm done complaining but I am glad I wrote some of this down because then maybe this won't slip my memory again. We are super excited to give Brylee a brother or sister, and I think she is excited too. Whenever I ask her if she wants a brother or sister she always, every time says "SISTER!" I guess we will wait and see.

This is the 9 week ultra sound :)

Birthday Road Trip

I thought it was a good year to get out of town for my birthday. I have totally accepted the fact that I am no longer in my twenties, but that doesn't mean that I can't escape for a minute and put that thought far away from my mind. I decided that I really am okay with being 30, because I feel really good with where I am at and what I have accomplished in my life so far.

This is another trip that for living in Utah my whole life, I cannot believe I have never done it. So the day of my birthday we started our trip at Arches national park. For some reason in my mind I pictured it being just the arch that is on the license plates(which I now know is called delicate arch) and driving up to it, maybe doing a 1/4 mile at the most walk to get there and that was it, you had seen Arches park. I couldn't have been more off.

We learned early on this trip that it wasn't really a two year old kind of trip. The driving part wasn't so bad for her, only because she had her DVDs to watch. Anyone that knows Brylee can tell you that the girl loves to watch certain tv shows. She is glued to them and focus all her attention on them. Which in some ways is a good thing, don't get me wrong. When I need a second to get something done, one word.....Dora. But at the a same time I don't want her growing up being a tv watching, couch potato. So lets just say that I really try to limit her tv watching because if I let her, I know that she would literally watch it all day long without even blinking.

So as I was saying, movies and books kept her busy while in the car. But it was the outside the car activities that threw us for a loop. To get to the delicate arch up close, you have to hike 3 miles. Not happening with a 2 year old. We did get to see a lot of cool things still and I am still way glad we went but this is a trip that I will definitely have to do again when my kids are at hiking age.

This was one of the arches that we did get to hike up to, except poor Jay had to carry sweet little Bry most of the way. She would say "I walk!" Then two minutes later "Daddy, carry you." I still think they both had fun.

This is the itty bitty view of delicate arch that we got(and this is with my camera zoomed all the way up)

Very beautiful everywhere we looked.

Next stop Hole in the rock

They had a little petting zoo at hole in the rock, I thought it might be fun for her to see the animals, but if I were passing by HITR again I would have to skip the petting zoo. She did like seeing the animals so I guess it was worth our $7

We stayed in Monticello, UT and as soon as we got dinner and checked in we threw on our swimsuits and headed to the pool. Bry absolutely loves the water. She is a little water doggy for sure. We had the pool all to ourselves. This was her first time in a real pool and watching Brylee laugh and splash was one of my highlights of the trip.

Mesa Verde

She was very stoked about the cave dwelling Indian ruins, you can tell by her face in the picture.

This was other place where we couldn't go up close because I don't think that a hour long guided tour and a 2 year old mesh well. We had our own self guided tour and it was still cool to see, even if it was from far away.

This is the part of the trip that I stopped taking pictures. Why I did this, we will never know. But we got to see some really cool little towns like Durango, Silverton and Ouray Colorado. We ended our trip in Grand junction and we were off into the sunset and headed back to my big 30 reality. What a Happy Birthday I had!
